Scott's Bio
Scott, a corporate and securities lawyer for 40 years, has been a partner at large international, national and regional law firms. Over the course of his career, he has represented hundreds of clients in every phase of their corporate life cycles, including formation, growth and exit phases. Scott has represented start-up banks, insurance companies, insurance agencies, mutual funds, hedge funds, tech companies, service companies, professional practices, manufacturing companies and franchisors.
Throughout his career Scott has also been an entrepreneur like many of his clients. He has been a founding investor in banks, insurance companies, insurance agencies and numerous tech companies. He has had the unique experience of founding two insurance companies, growing them, taking one public, and selling both to larger insurance companies. His experience as an owner, director and officer of various companies has given him an insight into running and growing businesses that few lawyers have.
Scott has always been a serious student graduating with honors at the undergraduate, graduate and law school levels, including serving as editor-in-chief of the Temple Law Review. Scott attended Rutgers University on a football scholarship and, while earning his master’s degree in English at Villanova University, taught freshman English for two years.
Scott has spoken at numerous industry programs in the banking, insurance and business start-up arenas. In addition, Scott has spoken extensively at continuing education programs for lawyers. Scott has also served as Chairman of the Business Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and served as a member of the attorney advisory boards of the Pennsylvania Corporation Bureau and the Pennsylvania Securities Commission.
Scott has 5 sons, 4 grandchildren and 3 dogs. He enjoys wine, cigars and playing golf in his spare time.
