“My father always told me, ‘If it were easy, everyone would do it.’ I understand that the process of starting, operating, and developing a successful business is not easy – my job is to make this process as simple and transparent as possible for my clients. Because the less time a business owner has to focus on legal issues, the more time they have to devote towards running their business.”

As an attorney focused primarily on corporate and securities law, Zach works with businesses of all sizes and sophistication in areas including: entity formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, federal and state securities law compliance, capital raising, and commercial lending as counsel for lenders and borrowers. Zach regularly assists clients in navigating the legal process involved with starting a new business, obtaining financing to grow an existing business, expanding a business’ footprint through a merger or acquisition, and creating a succession plan to transition control of a business in the most advantageous manner.
Prior to joining Penwell Bowman + Curran, Zach worked at two, regional law firms practicing in the corporate and financial institutions space. He was drawn to Penwell Bowman + Curran because of the firm’s exceptional work-product and experience, which rivals any “big law” firm, coupled with the attorneys’ client-centered approach that focuses on the importance of creating and maintaining meaningful client relationships.
Zach attended the University of Delaware, where he received his B.A. prior to law school. While attending Widener University Commonwealth Law School, Zach served as the Editor-in-Chief for Volume 26 of the Widener Law Journal, an Academic Support Fellow for first year students, a Research Assistant for the Harper, James, & Grey Treatise, and a Widener Merit Scholar. He is the recipient of seven CALI awards for the highest grade in his class and The Best Student Article award from the Widener Law Journal for his article on the intersection of 3-D printers and the law. Zach graduated magna cum laude and was honored as the class Valedictorian of his law school class.
Outside of his law practice, Zach enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Phoebe, and their rescued dog, George, who ensures there is never a dull moment. Whether Zach is supporting his beloved Philadelphia Eagles (sometimes against his better judgment), honing his new-found affinity for carpentry, or appreciating all-things outdoors, he is happiest when he is around family and friends.
